Traditional comprehensive plans provide valuable documentation of community conditions, trends, and data, but they can also be more detailed, time-consuming, and expensive than many smaller rural communities need or can reasonably afford.
To better serve these communities, KVCOG is introducing a Comprehensive Plan “Lite” option. This approach maintains the same quality, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting Maine’s Growth Management Act requirements as our traditional comprehensive plans, while focusing largely on the information and analysis necessary to meet State requirements.
The primary difference is scope and level of detail. The Comprehensive Plan “Lite” provides a more concise document that allows communities to focus their time and resources on the policies, strategies, and implementation actions that will have the greatest impact on their future.
